What do I do if I’m transphobic and homophobic?
Well, the first thing that comes to mind is “keep your mouth shut”. But I’m assuming you want to be a member of society, and the fact that your asking what to do means you recognize that these are perspectives and behaviors you would prefer to be rid of.
So I’d suggest learning more about homosexuality and what it means to be transgender. Read stories and memoirs of the lives of transgender and homosexual people. Work to internalize the idea that trans and homosexual people are regular people, just like everyone else, and that there’s nothing wrong, gross, sick, or mentally ill about who they are.
Look inside yourself to try to find the root of your negative feelings towards homosexual and transgender people. Often they stem from fear and/or misunderstanding. Once you find those roots, find ways to address them and remove the negativity.
Talk with a therapist about your feelings. Chances are, they can help you change the way you think and respond to trans and homosexual people and concepts.
Get to meet trans and homosexual people. We are really neat people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Work to be kind and decent to everyone, regardless of who or what they are.

I might even add a recommendation to what you have: meet Christian LGBTQ+ people and allies (They exist!). When I was first reevaluating my own position on LGBTQ+ issues, I admit that it felt a bit lonely. But then I started realizing that I had friends thinking similarly, and that really helped me.

There are churches for every domination, and open directories for nondenominational churches, that often use the phrase “open and accepting” to let lgbt members know they can join, they are accepted as God’s children, they will not be judged and damned.

Just like a cult LGBT try and twist scripture to suit their needs. If you have the spirit of God in you, then you will want to turn from your sins. I’m not saying Christians are perfect, but I’m saying that if you love God you will want to follow his commands. “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
I Corinthians 6:9-10 Stop nitpicking Bible verses to justify sin. Sin is sin and God hates all sin.

Keep things in perspective. The Bible was used to condemn women who wouldn’t marry and instead work outside the home. The Bible was used to justify slavery, then the “separate but equal” Jim Crow laws found in US history and within apartheid. The Bible was used to justify colonialism and imperialism. The Bible was used to justify against masturbation—yes, at one point it was considered a source of major social ills in yesteryear. The Bible was used against Mormons when they practiced polygamy until they officially adopted monogamy. The Bible is still used against couples who live together, who raise families together, who for whatever reason don’t register a marriage certificate with their local government.
As for the two ultimate verses that people use to condemn homosexuality. On the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah:
Those cities weren’t destroyed because of their sexuality; they were destroyed because of their inability to help the down and out.
As for Leviticus 18:22—rabbis in Judaism have for generations said that this law was to justify against male prostitution and the Greek practice of old men taking young male lovers.
David was said to love Johnathan, the son of King Saul, more than any woman.
And those verses used to condemn our “sin”—if you read in context to the books they’re in, they talk about sin in general, so ignore if a preacher uses them.
Hope these are specifics that help state why the Bible, especially in the Old Testament / TaNaKh, actually does NOT condemn homosexuality.

These are all very good points. But please remember that sexual orientation and gender identity are two completely different topics. Sexual orientation is who you want to go to bed *with*, while gender identity is who you want to go to bed *as*.
There are a different set of “clobber verses” used to justify condemnation of transgender experiences – each with their own context and problems with how they’ve been interpreted throughout the years.
