Musings of a woman who happens to be transgender
Last time, I got into a comment posted by "Max" which led off by comparing LGBTQ+ people/activism to a Cult?; this was just the first phrase of the first sentence of his comment. The remainder of his comment drew on the Bible to try to imply that simply being LGBTQ+ is sinful. I want to address his (mis)use of scripture and the flawed conclusions he arrives at.
A few days ago, user "Max" replied to a comment made by Brendan Birth on my post about Q: What do I do if I’m transphobic and homophobic? / As a Christian believer, will God disown me if I transition from MTF? Max's comment makes a few claims and cites scripture. I was setting up to reply to Max in another comment, but decided this is a big enough topic to deserve its own post.
As a trans person, I’ve read your question, so I can answer truthfully, “yes, at least one trans person knows you reject ‘cisgender’.” But that leads me to ask you “am I supposed to care?”
My first was New York City’s in 2018.
How do you stop him? There’s a variety of ways - handcuff him, cut his arms off, cut his legs off, remove every sharp object from the house, etc. But all of these things ignore the real question: Why do you want to stop him?
Work to be kind and decent to everyone, regardless of who or what they are.
Basically, keep it happy and leave little space for dissent.
There are a lot of layers in this question - perhaps more than you’re even aware of.
There’s nothing wrong with the term itself, except that it’s out-of-date.
Transgender people need to be able to update their birth certificates with their chosen names and experienced gender because other people are so frequently jerks to transgender people solely on the basis of them being transgender.
